As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

A Second Fight... Thursday, June 16

I have a secret.

I was scheduled to fight this Saturday -- Saturday, June 18.

I was offered the fight last Sunday while out at dinner.

I was to fly out Friday morning to Saskatchewan for tomorrow evening weigh-in.

4 rounds at 118lbs.

Today my fight got cancelled because the entire fight card, the whole show, got cancelled. Complications with the commission and fighters' health checks.  I was in the clear though hence the extra medical tests I did this week at my doctor's office.

I hadn't really told anyone about this fight.  Only a handful of people knew and those that knew were either part of my coaching crew, like Coach Perez and Coach Madman, were a sponsor of mine or we're a close friend. I just told my roommate about it today and I hadn't even told my father whom I was hoping I could simply fly back under the radar and celebrate Father's Day with without him suspecting a thing. The plan was to tell everyone after the fight.

Now there is no fight.

Nothing goes without a trace though, a reaction to an action.  The action here being that I had accepted a fight with exactly a week's notice and left an impression on the matchmaker and promoter who had approached me about it.
