As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Happy Father's Day but One Frustrated Daughter... Sunday, June 19

You know what's cooler than seeing my dad, my Papa Bere, on Father's Day -- first Father's Day together in 12 years, it's seeing him drive away with my keys in his car!!!

My dad has a cellphone but he also doesn't really know how to use it in that he always has it turned off.  He turns it on only to call me and tell me that he's arrived.  Then he turns it off.

I kicked off my heels and broke into a full on sprint.  I anticipated him turning onto Sherborne and then coming back around on Parliment which parallel with my street.  I had to stop his car before it continued an hour out of town.  Through the grass and over rocks I sprinted but no such luck.  I clearly left some of my neighbours amused though, that's nice for them, but no keys for me.

I slumped at the front of my apartment door but refused to be defeated.  I had to get those keys.  I had a big business meeting tomorrow I had to plan for, Balboa needed walking and my roommate wasn't expected to return until either super late.  I had to get those keys!

And that's when it hit me, I know people here.

One of the perks of being back in Canada is the fact that I have exes here, guys whom I've dated.  I have friends too, of course, but I have a particular ex whom I have just recently started hanging out with, Poo.  He's been incredibly supportive of me and we're cool so I called him up and he showed up.

Off to Whitby with Poo.

No top down on the Porsche but music blasting and a hot coffee in hand on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon. Got my keys and then headed back to Toronto, sweet.

"You should have a spare set of keys", a friend told me later on today.
"I do have a pair", I told him.  "They're in my apartment".... hahahaha.
