As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Mexico is Definitely Cool in My Books

The house I´m staying at is protected by three beautiful dogs -- 2 rottis and 1 pit.
One particular dog, this one named Kimberly, has really warmed up to me.
And I must admit I´ve warmed up to her.  She´s massive, she´s beautiful, and
she´s nothing but snuggles and wagging tail whenever she greets me.
Amused my promoter´s kids today by giving them whatever Canadian change I had on them.
The one boy looked at this and asked his dad ¨Is this even real money? Can it buy anything?¨
Well kid, I gave you a loonie and it is real money but Canada is so
damn expensive that no, it can´t buy you anything.
Lunch time with my promoter and his adorable kids.  My favorite is Vicky, the little lady.
Hanging out at the promoter´s office meant meeting a lot of people and one of the people I ran into was this fighter, Cecilio Santos.  I´m fighting on the same card as him tomorrow.
With tomorrow being weigh-in today I have to train.  I was underweight when I weighed myself at the promoter´s office but that was yesterday.  And for me not to train before a fight.... ya, I couldn´t picture that either.
Everyone keeps on telling me not to talk to strangers and not to go any where alone so Coach Perez has it set up that I´m always escorted (though I must admit I´m totally tempted to sneak out and go venturing out on the streets alone).  Because I´m always escorted though, this meant that when I wanted to go run so did my escort.
Returned to the house for a shower and some pre-training food.
I don´t know but if people say my snacks are weird than they should try this snack that was offered to me.  It was cut up apples with some kind of chilly/lime spice and some questionable red sauce.
It most definitely looked better than it tasted and that doesn´t say much.
For the rest of the evening I relaxed in my room.
Three dogs and one crying cat... nice.  I´m definitely a dog person. Sorry kitty, but after living in Korea for 11 years with their street cats, I can´t say I´m a cat person anymore.
