As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

It IS a Dog's Life... Tuesday, November 15

It was “Take Your Doggie To Work” Day, well, not officially but for Skittles and Balboa it was.

Back in Korea, Balboa used to work at Hulk's.  He's job title was Crowd Motivator and Smile Generator.  But now he lives here in Canada and although he does make the occasional appearance at the boxing club, he doesn't have an official job beyond being my in-house security and small spoon (for spooning).  He's living the retired life these days -- sleeping all day and going for leisurely long walks on the weekend with my former roommate.

Today he went to work.

Skittles dropped by my apartment, scooped him up and took him to work. I spent the day receiving pictures of Balboa sitting on this girl’s lap and that girl’s lap. My four legged little man got around, wow. I was worried he’d annoy them and perhaps pee at the office but I got word that everyone absolutely loved him and he was so good. That’s awesome. He was even taken the doggie spa to get his nails done too, nice.

On Sunday he was taken to Fort Erie and then today he was taken to work AND to the spa. Now I know why they say “it’s a dog’s life”;  Balboa lives quite the life.
