As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Fight Club Continues... Friday, December 2

It's been months since I've step into the ring for Fight Club at Cabbagetown Boxing -- a female-only sparring club.  Tonight I returned.  I walked into Cabbagetown Boxing and was greeted with huge smiles and hugs from the female fighters gearing up for training, a big hello from the head coach and one male boxer even came over and kicked me.  Yup, lots of love.  Okay, so he kicked my foot when I was down on the ground doing push-ups but none the less it was a kick and none the less it was a lot of tough love and long-time-no-see love.

It felt great to be back.

As for getting punched in the head, round after round, can't say that felt so great but then again when you've got so much adrenaline pumping through your veins you don't feel anything.  All I felt was my body getting exhausted from it all.

There were four of us at Fight Club tonight and one was a female fighter I hadn't met until tonight.  One of the usual female fighters present has a fight this Sunday so she pushed her around at training a little bit harder and more than normal.  Only four of us but it was a solid crew.  I haven't been at the Fight Club in months.  All my Friday nights had been consumed by Agency Wars, prepping and coaching Team Blue, but now that's over and down with.  Now I have my Friday nights back so now I'm back to Friday Night Fight Club.

Ended my Friday night off with a special dinner out at Joey's downtown -- steak with asparagus.  I'm still doing keto though so with keto being high fat, moderate carbs and low protein, this protein-high steak was balanced out with a garlic butter and brie cheese sauce.  Oh, and some butter on my asparagus too.  Still trying to wrap my head around the whole high fat notion of keto but I'm loving the fact I can eat cheese.
