As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Kicking it with New Kicks... Monday, February 19

It was a super sunny Monday morning.  I had my coffee in me, my breakfast devoured, and I was off to Market Market for some errands at the printer and to pick up some new runners.

I don't like shopping but the state of my runners is getting pretty ridiculous.

Three holes in my runners and that's just one of my two shoes.  It's just the left shoe.  I've been pretty quick to sew them up.  The runner is a thinner material so it's not like a hole in them means I've been beating them up but I do wear my runners a lot.  Whether it's for training, running around the city, coaching, or attending business meetings, my runners are key.  Showing up for a business meeting in beat up runners just doesn't just cut it.

I have a particular image to uphold, I know this, but I also know I hate shopping.

Was lured into going shopping today and came out with new kicks.

Hot pink Adidas kicks that are as loud and bold as my business Empowered is.  They're very empowered kicks, if you ask me... hahaha.
