As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Back to the Grind... Tuesday, March 6

I really have no comment about the 10th Filipina Entrepreneurship Summit except for the "A" for effort, "F" for fail.  It was more hype then anything and definitely more Tagalog than I could handle.

I left early.

I only stayed as long as I did because it cost me 800Php to attend, plus another 160Php for the Uber there and 180Php for the Uber back.  I'm still an athlete and entrepreneur.  All my money either goes into food, training gear or things for my business.  That's the life.

I was upset and disappointed about the summit because I had cancelled my Empowered boxing class.  Last week I had a solid crew come out and so I was really wanting to continue that awesome energy into this week.  No such luck.

Returned home with the whole afternoon and evening to do whatever... which meant I did work.

Searched out a pretty cool hook up for patches here in the Fort BGC for my boxing gloves though I'm a bit skeptical about him because he giggles at everything I say.  I don't know if he's nervous because I only speak English or what but I'll have to check in on him tomorrow to see how my patches are going.  He's embroidering the Filipino flag onto the wrist wraps on my new custom Empowered gloves but because it's right on to the leather and not onto a patch first, he's got one shot.  No pressure.

The rest of my day was pretty much spent working on a "smart athletic" line I've started.  Yesterday I went to several shops to check out their clothing items and to talk to their sellers, today I sat down and did some design work.

Later in the evening, when it was so overly obvious I hadn't got up from working for hours on end, Skittles insisted I get out of the condo and go for a walk.  We ended up going to Fully Booked where I then did some field research for another side project I'm looking to launch.

Work is always on my brain... seriously.
