As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Building My Team... Thursday, March 29

I had a meeting today with probably the only other woman working on this Holy Week Thursday, a potential investor. She's a young boss lady who has quite the impressive hustle, flying in and out of the Philippines on almost a bi-weekly bases. Her busy schedule makes her a hard one to catch but today we had arranged to meet up for coffee and to talk business, to talk about Empowered.

She's in. She definitely is a poster child for what my business is about and she's definitely in.

With approaching potential investors for Empowered, I've come to the conclusion that I need to be approaching a more specific type of investor. Investors that are entrepreneurs, more specifically entrepreneurs who have built something and/or females that are into fitness and are health conscious.

My confirmed investors, they're all big into health and fitness, one is a fellow fighter actually and another is someone I've coached in boxing and they're all entrepreneurs who have built something. I couldn't be happier to have them on my team because they get my vision, they see the potential of what I'm starting, and they understand my mission.
