As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Legal Matters Matter... Thursday, August 9

Worked from home today, which meant I sat at the computer for hours on end and totally lost track of the time, the day, AND the night.

On today's list of things to do, I met with a local fight shop to discuss them carrying my Slay gloves and Slay hand wraps.  I really need to get them into a store, at least have a secured location for potential buyers to be able to come and see them.  Currently I'm just selling them online and at my boxing club.  I've had many boxers at Team Insider approach me about them, buy them, and then recommend me to their friends who have reached out to me.  Next step is to approach the owner of Team Insider and see if they'll officially sell my gloves there, along with this particular fight store.

Next on the agenda, setting up a meeting with a graphic designer to secure my intellectual property.

I also need to register for my company's BIR so that I can issue invoices.  Currently I am issuing invoices for products and services rendered but they're not official, legal invoices.  They're more or less a reference for my customers that the transaction has occurred.

Getting my corporate papers was one thing, I'm glad they're done, but now it's on to the BIR.  I've been offered a potential opportunity at a high end training facility but the deal is I need my BIR so that I can legally invoice them for my services.  Same is true for getting KMC to pay me for the gloves they've purchased and that's a pretty big order.
