As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

A Tale of Two Cities... Friday, September 21

Poblacion or BGC, that is the question. With me wanting to take my business to the next level and launch my private boxing studio, I'm having to find a location and make a decision. Problem is now though, I have found a location, two actually, and they're both pretty badass cool with ample opportunities and potent potential.

Yesterday I met with the owner of the Poblacion location, to discuss with him further details and today I went to see the BGC location again, to take measurements and ask some follow-up questions.

Poblacion or BGC, they both have their positive points and their negative points.

Poblacion is a diamond in the rough, there's definite potential for it to be such a badass speak easy of fitness places but BGC is roaring to go and it fits my clientele more.  On the flipside, it might be difficult to attract new clients with my place being in Poblacion and in BGC there's that added pressure that I'd have to get more clients because the rent is almost twice the price of Poblacion.  Right now, I'm making enough with the clients I have to pay the rent in Poblacion but being there might mean me losing some of my current clients and struggling to get more.  BGC, yes, some of my clients also might not go there but for the simple fact that it'd be a further commute for them.

Ahhhh the struggle is real.

Poblacion or BGC, that is the question.
