Sundays are the days when I am able to catch up on computer work and lose myself in it. I usually go to The Refined around noon and stay there till about 6pm, sitting there with my eyes stuck to my computer screen, nose buried in my books, and head buzzing with business ideas.
Today was no different except it was kicked off with a little bit of a material hunt.
Trying to find material for my next Slay clothing item, close to impossible but I haven't yet given up hope. I have however given up hope on finding it here in The Fort BGC. Originally, the plan was to wake up and take the trek down to Divisoria, a part of Manila that is flooded with shops and oozes with barigins. It also, however, oozes with pick-pocketers and random theives looking to prey on neive shoppers... like me, a foreigner who's totally fresh to this area, this situation. I was advised to cover up, wear a baseball cap and wear old clothing. Don't wear anything that brings extra attention to me, like my new kicks apparently. By the way, those new kicks, they're getting me mad attention.
The plan to head there this morning got cancelled though and instead I hunted for material in Market Market, a lower end mall here in BGC. There were quite a number of fabric stores, I was quite impressed, but that's also because there is a large Indian community and many of them make their own clothes. Needless to say, the Indian community isn't making dresses for their ladies and outfits for their men out of thick sweater material so I didn't find anything but everything else I didn't need.
The hunt continues.
