As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Party for Two... Saturday, September 1

In a matter of a simple short Grab ride, I went from one extreme end of the scale, the poor end, to the polar opposite, the rich end.  It wasn't the richest end though but then again it wasn't the poorest end either.

I had a doctor check-up in the poorer end and a kid's birthday to attend in the richer end.

It was kind of weird to have gone from one extreme to the next but it served as a reality check, to be blessed.  We all could have more, sure, but we all could have less.  And many do have less but many of those who have less still feel blessed.  It's humbling in that sense.  I see the Lil' Sistas at Holy Family Home and they greet me with hugs and smiles, giggles and tickles.  They're just so happy to see us and so eager to do whatever I've got planned for them.  I don't bring them anything big like playstation to play with or spend money on taking them to the movies or buying them toys.  Instead I just spend my time with them, give them my attention, and use my energy towards them.  And this makes them so happy.

Today's birthday party was for a niece that turned 7.  Family and friends filled the party place where it was being held and when I walked in, it was flooded with people laughing and giggling.  It was quite the impressive kid's party and I thought it was the coolest.  I've never had a kid's party as such so I joked and said I wanted this for my 40th.  And I DO want this for my 40th but who I'd invite would be all the Lil' Sistas and the nuns at Holy Family that so graciously look after them and run the place.  I'd also invite my Filipino family here and friends, have them interact with each other.  It'd be amazing to see the varying in "social levels", if that's how you'd even properly refer to them as, in one room.  It'd be like a clashing of the two ends of the scale.  I know they'd have fun though because I know my Filipino family is awesome like that and the Lil' Sistas are open to anyone who is nice to them.  I think it'd be a cool idea.

Let's see.  I'm not yet 40 for a couple of more years but this could go down.
