As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Just Relax on the Tips... Sunday, December 16

No rugby today... I went running instead.
No church today... I went boxing instead.

Boxing on the brain and pounds to lose.  The pressure is on and the pressure is real but despite everyone freaking out over me having to still lose so much weight, I'm okay with it.

What I'm not okay with is everything telling I should try this, or do that.

Listen, it's officially fight week.  Do you honestly think I'd try something new now?!  More importantly, do you think this is really the right moment to be changing things up when what I've been doing has been working so far and proving itself effective?!

Exactly.

That's my biggest pet peeve.

What works for one person doesn't necessarily work for everyone, or me.

Instead of people flooding my brain with this nonsense and that nonsense, though I'm well aware that their intentions are good, I rather people just be quiet and simply say "good job" or "keep it up".

I've lost about 7lbs in the past week and a bit.  Yes, I have about 9 more to go.  I'm safe if I only have 6-7 to lose the last night so having 4 days to lose 2lbs is not a big issue for me, trust me.

I've NEVER missed weigh in and, if anything, have been underweight for a couple of my fights despite having to lose a hell of a lot of weight.  This time, I admit, it's the most amount of weight I've had to lose for a fight and the short amount of time, but manipulating my eating habits and water intake isn't new to me.  I really should tell you how I was taught to do it in Korea.  That'd blow your brain.  Perhaps I'll save that for a Vlog posting.  Stay tuned for that.  Haven't done a Vlog in weeks so that would be a good one.
