As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Game Time Soon... Wednesday, January 23

Upcoming 15's rugby games for Lady Mavericks:

February 9th -- Lady Mavericks vs Manila Rogues
March 2nd -- Lady Mavericks vs Makati Chiefs
May 4th -- Lady Mavericks vs Lady Eagles

The schedule was sent out the other day and upon seeing just how close we are to my first 15's game, I felt anxiety.  I'm still learning how to play touch rugby but full contact rugby is a whole other game.

"15's" is full contact rugby, right?!  See, I don't even know.

I missed the past few rugby practices because of work and tomorrow I have practice.  They now train on Mondays and Wednesdays but out of town.  It's too far, the expense adds up, and I honestly can't afford such a chunk of time to improving my game, especially when you consider on Mondays and Wednesdays I'm at the boxing club for about 2.5 hours.

The girls on the team are awesome, they've got mad talent, but I'm not up to par with their skills on the field.  I'm trying, I really am, and I'm Goggling the hell out of the game and it's rules, but it's not an easy sport.  Some of my teammates have been playing for years, some have full fledge scholarships because of their rugby, and even the team is sponsored by various companies.  We've got a club van, it's legit.  The team is official.  It's not some amateur team and this isn't some amateur sport.  I really need to kick up my game, learn more for myself and learn more to help my team.
