As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Goal Woman... Wednesday, February 27

Who is your #goalwoman?

I pride myself on being a strong woman, not only physically but also mentally and emotionally, but there's one lady that always gets me teary-eyed because she's strong but on a whole other level.

My #goalwoman ...the beautiful, huge-hearted woman in the middle, Cecilia Flores-Oebanda, CEO of the The Voice of the Free and freedom fighter, and her amazing crew of game changers.

There are 740,000 victims of human trafficking in the Philippines and there are 251 less then there would be because last year that's how many the Voice of the Free rescued.

251 many not sound like a lot in comparison to the pool of recorded victims but that's 251 individuals who now have their life back and you can't put a price on that.

Attended a charity event tonight for the Voice of the Free where Cecilia talked about the issue of modern slavery (human trafficking) and the girls at The Center of Hope. Her girls are my Lil' Sistas so the issues she talked about hit home for me because I know the girls she talked about, I coach them in boxing and just recently launched the Snail Mail Program for them.

What they're doing at The Center of Hope, The Voice of the Free, is nothing short of life changing. I joked and said that I was their biggest fan but I really am. To the left of me, in the above picture is Sherryl, one of the sweet ladies who works at The Center of Hope. She's my main contact person for organizing my involvement with them so I'm ever so grateful for her.

They're doing big things for these girls, I can't even begin to shed light on it all, so I have upmost respect and admiration for not only Cecilia but those who also work along side her. •

They're saving lives.
They're changing lives.
They're making lives.

I want to do that too. That is my goal.
