Had a pretty positive meeting today regarding my Lil' Sistas Project. One of my new clients actually initiated the meeting so that was pretty spectacular and sweet of her. Her company had a guest in the country and he was only here for a few days so she set up a meeting between us. We met up for lunch and I chatted his ears off about my Lil' Sistas Project.
Currently, for the Lil' Sistas Project, I have the Lil' Pow Boxing Class and am looking to set the launch date for the Snail Mail Sista Program for later this month. I'd love to one day launch my Big Sista/Lil Sista Mentorship but there's so much legalities and security issues at play that I don't know yet how to address, deal with and solve.
One of the things that I've been trying to really focus on is drawing more attention to the Center of Hope (with the Voice of the Free) and Holy Family Hope. Both are important places that are ran by exceptionally big-hearted workers but they're really dependent on donations. Donations are so important and though I definitely don't make enough money to even make a dent in the burden they occur each month with providing and paying bills for all the girls they house, I do have the skills, effort and passion with regards to helping them out. Today's meeting addressed this issue and I ended up passing on the Center of Hope's contact info for their main lady, Cecilia, the founder of Voice of the Free.
I don't know if anything will really become of today's meeting but putting out those positive vibes and just sharing my stories and experiences with what I'm doing with the Lil' Sistas Project and the places I coach at, I think that helps to further propel things further. The universe gives back to you that which you put into it.
Another topic we briefly touched bases on was the idea of me doing motivational speeches. I would absolutely love to do that. I think that we all have stories to share, lessons to pass on, experiences to inspire others with and, if given the chance, we should for sure share them with others. You never know the domino effect you will and can have on someone's life. Your story may just be what they need to hear to know they're not alone, that there are others who can empathise, others that do understand. Sometimes we just need to know we're not the only one. There's comfort in that but there's also lessons to be passed on through acknowledging this fact. I want to be a part of that, definitely.
