As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Training Super Hard... Monday, February 18

Trying to get a fight schedule set but the struggle is real.  Regardless, sparring continues and on Wednesday I'll be working with another coach for padwork.  I might be adding him to my corner crew, not sure yet.  He's a coach from Elorde actually, so it'll be interesting to see how he changes up my training and what new he brings to my game.

Sparring today was six rounds but I felt confident about them.  Am moving a lot more with my defence as oppose to just taking the punches.  I don't like weaving so blocking the punches and back stepping has become my go-to for defence.  I'm getting a bit too predictable with the punches I'm leading with so today I found myself consciously trying to throw the opposite.  I tried to mix it up, get comfortable with my lead in, and then move around more.

Sparring was good.  I felt it later in the evening though, wow.

I hit the weights tonight for shoulders and abs at Fitness First, long after sparring was over and done with, but my head felt like it was in a vice.  Regardless, I had scheduled myself to get in a second workout, work the weights, and I wasn't about to cancel on myself.  Came home after weights and pretty much crashed after my last meal of the day.

Current injuries I'm nursing:
-- turf burn on my left butt cheek from rugby
-- two fingers cramped up from rugby (long time injury now)
-- head feeling like it's in a vice from sparring at boxing
-- fat lip from getting head butted during sparring
