As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Terrible Tuesday Morning... Tuesday, May 28

The major flop of the day was walking into Fitness First to cancel my membership and them telling me I can't, that they're going to continue to charge me for the remaining months left on it.

I'm on the fourth month... the fourth month of a twelve month membership, a year membership.

I'm also a business owner of a small startup company, a startup company that is just about to launch the physical space for their company... a space that's double my original budget.  Oh, and I'm a pro athlete too so you guessed right if you guessed I'm sponsored and you guessed right if you guessed I also don't make a lot of money off of participating in my actual sport, like having pro bouts.

Great.  Just great.

The general manager at Fitness First kept on telling me "but this is the policy", by which I lost my cool and blurted out "well your policy sucks... this isn't the last of me".  And then I walked out.

Jokes on them though, I found out how to get around their "policy" -- report the bank card used for it as stolen.  The card will have to be replaced but they won't be able to charge that account anymore.   I don't actually have a bank account yet.  I used someone else's bank account, with permission of course.  I really don't need one right now anyways because no sooner do I get cash but then I throw it into my business.  The clubhouse, for example, ate all my cash and then I borrowed more to pay for stuff my cash couldn't.  I'm good for paying it off, I know that, but getting a house and renovating it for your company, wow, I only here dollar signs in my head and it's all regarding money going out.

That's how my morning went though, full of frustration because of Fitness First.

I loved that club until I didn't, until today that is.

Returned home from that and coaching, and was greeted by my three little beautiful 4-legged babies.

Spent the rest of the day working on Empowered and the Lil' Sistas Project.

Bounced back on my terrible Tuesday morning by having a terrific Tuesday afternoon.  Deliveries came and I interviewed a new renovations company ran by two women, two sisters actually.  They're a new startup company just like me and today I took them through the clubhouse and pointed out all the things I need worked on.  There are immediate things and future things.  The plan is to wait for their quote and then take it from there.  Don't tell them though, they pretty much already have the job.  I'm all about women supporting women and I'm all about the small guy, or I guess I should say "the small girl" here.
