As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

A 15hr Work Day... Saturday, June 15

Today's Schedule:
6am -7:30am      Wake up and prep the boxing gear and post run snacks
8am - 10am          First run with the Acacia Sole Sistas
10am - 12pm       Small team training
1:30pm -7pm       Boxing with the Lil' Sistas at the Center of Hope
8pm - 9pm           Coaching fighter at Empowered

By the time 8:15am had arrived, I had been up for a couple of hours, prepping for today's boxing with the Lil' Sistas and prepping a post run snack for the Sole Sistas running team.  So when 8:15am came around and still no one who had signed up showed up, I headed out for a run by myself.

I don't do Filipino time.  I think it's a pure excuse for a lack of respect.  I mean, why make a specific time appointment if you're not going to follow through with it?!  Exactly.  Today's run was suppose to be the first run for the team but it was also my run and my time.  I already had a packed day and I wasn't about to start it on a negative note so I got in a good run.  Ended up meeting a super sweet young gal too on my run.  I invited her out to next week's run.  I hope she comes.

I coach two small teams here at Empowered with the second one starting up today.  Four ladies that live within the area and two that will be joining next week.

As for boxing with the Lil' Sistas and the Center of Hope, always a good time but today felt so different.  Today I felt like the girls and I had more fun than usual and understood each other more.  Maybe I was just high on more feel good endorphines because of my run, I don't know, but what I do know is there was a lot of laughing and smiles at today's boxing class.  The girls are always good for me but today they were terrific and I couldn't help but look at them and wonder who would be able to come to Empowered and work for me.  I'm super eager to get that started, the whole hiring process.  I'm super excited for it.

Arrived home with just enough time to quickly charge my phone a bit, walk the dogs, blast the air con to cool down the boxing studio, and put my gear away before my evening client came for training.

By 9:40pm I was done work for the day, back into my lazy lounge wear, and answering business emails on the computer.  Okay, so perhaps that means technically work wasn't done, the coaching part of it all and manual part was.
