As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

WE WON!!!

Introducing the 2019 JML Premiership Shield 15's Rugby Women's Champions, the Lady Mavericks.

It was pretty amazing, not going to lie and not going to down play it.  My teammates are awesome people and wickedly talented rugby players.  I've never doubted their skills and when I'm on the field playing I'm trying my hardest to bring myself up to their level.  I'm not on their level, I know, but I try.  Coach called me out on halftime and told me I need to drive my legs more when getting tackling so that's what I focused on the second half of the game but it almost cost my nose.  I collided into one of the opposing team's players and took her shoulder straight to my nose.  It was so incredibly painful.  My eyes swelled up with tears and I instantly tried to touch my nose but stopped myself.  I waited till my eyes cleared up before touching it.  No broken nose, thank God, but damn that hurt.  I sported a bad swollen lip for a good chunk of the game and I can only imagine what my teammates and the other team was sporting during the game and after it.

It was a rough game but a good game.  27-20, Lady Mavericks vs Lady Eagles.

Our win was celebrated with not only a trophy but also some egging.  It was one of my teammate's birthdays so we were all passed eggs and when we snapped our club picture we all egged her.

Endorphins and positive vibes were on an all time high.

Arrived back in Taguig and then had to head out again.

One of my first fighters that I started training about a year ago and whom I've been coaching ever since was having a farewell party tonight.  She's leaving the Philippines.  And as happy as I am and proud of her to be really following her own passion and searching out her own definition of happiness, it'll be sad to see her go.  So tonight I headed out to see her one last time, at her going away party.  I only planned to stay about an hour but I ended up staying there till about 1:30am.  The sports bar where her party was being held felt just like Crocodile Rock, a sports bar my friends and I used to go to in Toronto.  It was as if I had just clicked my heels and wound up back in Toronto.  So strange but so true.  And, on that note, I started to text a close friend of mine back in Toronto, a good friend who was always my dancing partner.  I felt like I was in Toronto again and I just didn't want to just leave that feeling so despite having a fighter I have to be up at 6am for, I went home around 1:30am.
