As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Giggles on the Set... Sunday, June 9

I had rugby semi finals yesterday but rugby practice today.

A film crew from ABS CBN was scheduled to come at 1:30pm for filming at Empowered so I left rugby early.  The film crew showed up super early, like 40 minutes early.  That never happens in the Philippines though, I don't think you understand.  So there I was, standing in the shower, when suddenly I heard the doorbell.  They arrived.  Rushed my shower and waited till after they wrapped up filming, some 5 hours later, before I could eat my post rugby meal.

I was told I'd be training a celebrity, coaching her in boxing -- Krissha from Girlstrend on Showtime.  But, as it turned out, she's never actually boxed before so that was quite fun to be the first person to wrap her hands up and put gloves on her.  I had my reserves about how this would go down but I was definitely surprised in just how fun it actually was.  I really had a lot of fun filming and I was proud of Krissha for her honest effort she put into the sessions.

Our boxing session ended with her saying she wanted to teach me a little bit of dance.  Honestly, I don't like learning new things as such so you can imagine how instantly shy I got.  But I figured if she was such a great sport about learning boxing and giving me a sincere effort, the very least I could do was try her dance.  So that's what I did, I danced, and you'll be able to see it on national TV when it airs at the end of the month... oh gosh.

At the end of our time together, when she was giving a recap on the camera, I snuck down to the kitchen and got her a Snickers ice cream bar.  I just discovered these the other day at the grocery store and had raved about to her about them earlier.  I presented it to her as a kind of award for her excellent effort.  She was so happy.  She jumped up and down, causing her body mic pack to fall off her.  It was hilarious.

Can't wait to see the final product of the episode filmed today.

More filming scheduled for later on this week.
