As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Humble and Honest... Friday, June 21

Cleared my schedule and attended the mass for Tito Eddie.  He passed away almost a week ago today after a freak accident while on set, filming a movie.  I Goggled him to see the facts and figures of him as an actor.  Turns out he has something like over 600 films he's starred in but he started off as just a simple soldier.  A simple soldier that turned into an actor who then turned into a legend.  He died at age 90.  He never retired because he loved what he did, acting, and he always showed up super early on set because of it.

The turnout of family, friends and fans was such a true testimony to how much he was loved, adored and respected by many.  I hope his wife, my Tita Lilibeth, finds comfort in the numbers that showed up and the obvious impact he had in the lives of many.

It was hard to see Tita Lilibeth.  She and her situation reminded me too much of my father.  I got all teary eyed looking at her, thinking of him, my dad.  What really got me though was when I saw one of their house helpers weeping.  I don't know her full story but know that she's worked for the family for a long time and there she sat, in the pew behind Tita, bawling her eyes out.  Now that was a true testimony to who Tito Eddie was.  He was loved by many but he also loved many too.  He had stayed humble and honest even though he had reached fame and fortune.
