As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Klean is the Way to Go... Monday, June 17

Met with Klean Athlete today, one of my kickass sponsors, and went over some things with them.  They're hosting an event on July 10th that they've requested me to be a part of so for sure I will.  Am more than happy to do it.  Klean Athlete has been super supportive of me with not only my boxing but now with Empowered Clubhouse and all that includes, like my Sole Sistas Running Team, the Lil' Sistas Project, and of course all my fighters.

Am definitely feeling the love from them.

Discussed some awesome potential plans and expanded upon some ideas, so it was a very productive meetings.  I left feeling supported and part of the team, I like that.  Am feeling super supported by my sponsors these days, really appreciate it, and am hoping that the recent launch of the Empowered Clubhouse will bring more attention their way because they're deserving of it.  They have helped me to where I am today and I'm forever grateful.  Back when I was struggling to find a place for Empowered, I was also struggling to pay my way, cover my costs.  When I first started to launch Empowered as a startup business, it was my sponsors who helped me get through it.  I will forever be grateful for the Six Pack Chef especially because if they didn't send me food, well, I wasn't making enough to even buy food on a regular bases.   Thing were tight.  Remember how I used to walk from BGC to Poblacion for training, well, it was either walk or don't go.  I had limited money and spending it on transportation wasn't how I wanted to direct it.  And lest we forget the fact that I actually only came here, over two years ago now, with just enough month to get me through the first three months.  I was only suppose to stay here for three month... two years later and I'm still here.

Two years later and now I have 2 additional dogs, my company has become legally incorporated and now has a physical space.  And to think, this all started with me just coming to the Philippines to train and fight for 3 months.

I feel like all my persistence, dedication and hardwork with grinding away and staying focused on my goals is finally paying off.
