As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Mavs Representing... Wednesday, June 19

Flexing my bragging rights here and not because I honestly had anything to do with the awesomeness that went down but because I'm super proud of them.

9 out of the 26 female rugby players that were chose to be on the national team are my teammates.

That's 9 Lady Mavericks chosen to be on the Lady Volcanoes team, the national team!!!

My #quadgoals friend got picked and it was first time for her to be on the national team so I'm so happy for her, so proud of her.  I know she trains like a beast.  She's one of the hardest training athletes I know actually so I know she was totally deserving of a spot.

I texted her personally to congratulate her and she made mention of hopes of me being on the team.  Apparently I'd have to be in the Philippines for 3 years to be considered.  I, on the other hand though, don't consider myself nearly up to par or close there to it in comparrision to the mad skill my fellow teammates and those on the national team sport.  I'm flattered my friend thinks I could make it though; I appreciate the support.

Today the Lady Mavericks played a team from India and won.  They've been at a pretty rough and tough rugby camp this past week and so I know the game came after a lot of hard training and sweating it out on the field.  They have another game this Saturday.

I'd wish them luck but they don't need luck; they've got skill.
