As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Thanks for the Motivation... Tuesday, June 18

Right smack dab, during the middle of my training, the doorbell rang.

Special delivery.

Pinay Keto had sent me cookies but not just any cookies... low carb, sugar free, gluten free, and guilt free cookies.  A whole tub of cookies AND a chocolate lava cake!!!  So ya, tell me you honestly expected me to honestly not dip my fingers into those cookies and taste test them.  Exactly.

Along with the cookies and cake came a little handwritten note.

Dear Amy,
Don't stop, you never know who you're inspiring... You are awesome.  Keep on inspiring us.
Enjoy eating!

I loved the note and sat there looking at it.  It came at the right moment.  This past weekend I coached all my Lil' Sistas.  It meant it was a super busy and ultra exhausting weekend but one that I was left questioning myself whether I'm doing enough or not.  I always question myself after I see them actually because these girls really pull at my heart strings and I'm always so refreshed by their pure resilience and energy.

I wonder if I even remotely have an affect on them like they do me.

Last week we did filming with ABS CBN and in their interviewing of me, they had asked me "What can others do to help with the Lil' Sistas Project?"  I should have anticipated that question.  I could have and would have given a better answer, instead I gave an answer that really didn't give the info and whatnot that I wanted to.  Instead, I rambled on about this and that.  I don't even remember my answer actually.

So let me re-answer that question here...

What can people do to help the Lil' Sistas Project?

There is always something people can do, but here are some suggestions:
  • "Like" and follow the Facebook and Instagram page of The Voice of the Free.
  • Educate yourself about human trafficking.
  • If you suspect a child is involved in human trafficking or is being abused, report it.
  • Donate directly to The Voice of the Free.
  • Share posts from The Voice of the Free and Holy Family Home Foundations on your Facebook.
  • Leave an encouraging note on The Voice of the Free FB or IG page.
  • "Like" and follow Holy Family Home Foundation's Facebook page.
  • Contact Holy Family Home Foundation directly and ask them for donation request.
  • "Like" and follow the Empowered Clubhouse company Facebook and Instagram page.
  • Buy a Lil' Sista Hoodie or Girl Power Cap -- all proceeds go to the Lil' Sistas Project.
  • Donate money to the Lil' Sistas Project for a Century Bob (stand-up punching bag).

These are just some of my suggestions off the top of my head... I'm sure to think of more.
