After coaching my fighters in the morning and then killing it at boxing with my own training, I returned home to an important meeting involving my dogs.
I hired a dog trainer. He took away Cassius and Balboa today.
I've been having problems with Cassius and Balboa for the past month and it has gotten really bad. I've been bit several times, one of which left a massive bruise on my leg and lots of blood. Man did that bite ever bleed like a mofo. For the past two weeks Cassius has lived on the first floor of my clubhouse and Balboa has lived on the third floor. When Balboa is taken outside to go to the bathroom, he is escorted down the stairs wearing a leash. Both he and Cassius have not seen each other face-to-face.
Today they were reunited.
They were reunited and they fought. It was in a very controlled setting however, it was with the dog trainer, and I was told to just sit there and not react. My initial thinking was that Balboa was the problem. He is the older dog and he's moved around a lot. Having now lived with me in three different countries and ten different homes, he now lives with two additional dogs, so it was assumed that it was him that was the problem. However, sitting there and watching Cassius and Balboa (and also Rousey), we realized that that's not the case.
Cassius is the problem.
He's not submitting to Balboa or any of us for that matter. He's trying to play the alpha and claim territory and proof in point was the fact that he peed on me three times as I sat there. Honestly, I didn't even know he was doing it. I was so fixated on Balboa, making sure he didn't lash out and me get hurt in the cross fire, but my fixation on him meant I didn't see Cassius peeing on me. I felt it though... and then I smelt it. Oh gosh.
Balboa and Cassius were taken away today by the dog trainer but I don't know how long they'll be gone for. It could be one week, it could be a month or two. They'll come back when this whole territorial/alpha dog gets worked out and they learn some manners.
I miss them already.
