As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Press Conference... Wednesday, July 10

It was the big day of the Klean Athlete Press Conference and Launch Party here in the Philippines so it was great to meet and chat with the other athletes on the Klean Team.  They decked out Alphaland City Club with some sweet branding and badass lights and, honestly, the place has never looked so professionally branded.  They did a really, really good job.

Originally I was suppose to have 10 participants in my boxing class but some cancelled and then others tried to switch over from yoga, but rules were rules and I only had 6.  No worries though.  It was a small class but it was loaded with some awesome participants, of which Tone from the All Blacks 7's was one of them.  That was very cool.

There were 6 of us rugby players at the event actually -- 6 guys and 6 females.

One of the rugby girls is actually fighting one of my teammates in the August 10th charity event (by which I should note here no one yet knows what charity exactly is being represented and funded here).

But anyways,... I'm rambling here...

My teammate's opponent approached me today to ask me personally about training her.  I wasn't going to do it but then today, after hearing her explain her situation, it makes it hard for me not to say no.  Honestly, I'm so incredibly tempted to call up the organizer and give him a piece of my mind.  He's paired up a girl who's been boxing for 2 years with one that hasn't even started boxing -- a triathlete who is coming off not one but two injuries.   The level of fairness on this one is in the minus.  It's not a fight, it's a slaughter.  I would NEVER agree to let my fighter participant in a situation as such.  It's not fair to either opponents.  The one is going to be possibly hurt and the other one isn't going to be challenged or given the due platform to showcase her skills.  I feel like I should step in and at least try to give her some pointers so that's what I did.  I'm hoping she takes my advice.

Anyways,... back to the Klean Athlete event.

It was a really good event, great energy, awesome crowd, and I loved it how they showcased some of us Klean team members by having us host a 30 minute workout session for those who signed up.  I was super impressed with not only their use of branding materials but also in the baked goods they had cooked up using the Klean Athlete supplements, like the recovery protein.  The peanut butter bars, holy delish!!!
