As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Struggling to Bounce Back... Tuesday, July 16

Two days.  I've been back two days and am still struggling to feel up to par.

There was a lot of "dirty eating" this weekend and though I'll admit I ate the chicken wings and French fries offered to me this weekend, I didn't over indulge and then I ended up just not eating what was offered to me.  Instead I slipped out for breakfast one day, indulged in a bag of fruit I was offered and then ate my body weight in bananas for another meal.  I lived off of bananas, bread, peanut butter and pineapples.

No training except for the four games played.

My body was hating me at training today.  It's like it was rebelling against me and I was struggling during padwork like it was my first time ever in the ring.  It was brutal.  B-R-U-T-A-L... brutal.

I took Monday off training thinking that'd be enough to bounce back and get back into my usual over-the-top busy life of coaching and training but today I found out I was wrong.

Here's to hoping things are better tomorrow.
