As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Pure Joy... Friday, August 16

My favourite moment this week was opening up an envelop that had traveled here for the Lil' Sistas.  It had come from MJKO Boxing Club in Toronto, the club that I paired up with to do the Snail Mail Program with, and it was full of wonderful letters so colorfully decorated for the Lil' Sistas.

Inside the envelop there was also a card for me, talk about a sweet surprise, and some stickers they had made with a Snail Mail logo they had designed, talk about an ultra super sweet surprise.  Today it was on my list-to-do to mail them off to the Lil' Sistas at the Center of Hope and then send the next batch of letters from my Lil' Sistas to MJKO in Canada.  But before I did that, I sat in my office looking at them, both piles of letters, and I felt so happy.

I hope the Lil' Sistas, both in the Philippines and in Canada, are as happy about these letters as I am.  And, funny thing is, I don't even know what's in the letters but they make me so happy.
