As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Be A Force... Saturday, October 26

I believe that we all have our ups and our downs, our challenges that change us and stories that have shaped us.  I also believe in living out such stories weren't also meant to share them, to help inspire others to possibly learn from our mistakes, learn life lessons via each other and be inspired.  So when I was asked by PSG Global to join them on an early Saturday morning, to speak to them about women empowerment, it wasn't a matter of deciding.  I knew I'd for sure do it, just had to make sure I changed my schedule accordingly.

I always get such anxiety when I have to speak in front of people, not because I'm nervous about what they'll think of me but because I so badly want to do justice to what I'm there to do -- to inspire and share my story, my stories.

I think I shared my story,... my stories... and I hope I inspired them.  I know I rambled a bit, yes, I'll admit that, but I also know I really shared from my heart and want them to know they too can really take control of their life, become empowered, and become this amazing force to reckon with.

Every day is a new day and every day is a chance to be good, be great... or be bad... but ultimately it is you who decides that.  You can always look for the bad and find it or you can look for the good and see that too.  Perspective is key.  You grow through what you go through and, if you think that, then there is always good to be found even in those not-so-good days, the bad days.
