As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Last Ditch Effort... Wednesday, October 23

With only a couple of days left till my FIRST E-V-E-R Spartan competition, non other than the big, old, bad Beast, a 21km race with 30+ obstacles, I decided to check out Pretty Big Obstacles and see what I could pick up in terms of tips and tidbits for the race.

800Php for an hour class... with about 35 people in it, apparently

800Php x 35 people... that's 28,000Php.  And THAT'S why they can afford the rent here, yikes!!!

Anyways, entrepreneurial rambling there.

I wasn't the only one super new to the class and I most definitely wasn't the first and only one also doing the Spartan race this weekend without any kind of prior experience.  That was both a relief and quite the comical realization.  We're either all super foolish and super optimistic or completely unrealistic and silly.  Maybe we're all and everything in between.

Tonight's class, despite the lack of me really getting in any kind of workout or practice, was worth it.  Pretty worth it, I'd say.  For the tips and tidbits I got from the coach coaching us and all that he told us about what to bring, it was good.  After class, I rushed to the mall to pick up some of the gear that he had suggested.

Things to bring (that I didn't think of):
Hydration backpack
Carb gels
Rubber gloves
Face mask

All the above, yeah, I either picked up in the mall or bought online, Lazada.
