Too many "what-the-fudge" moments today when it was suppose to be a smooth sailing day.
Today Six Pack Chef, one of my main sponsors, sent a crew of three to Empowered to film and follow me for an upcoming Vlog channel on YouTube they're setting up to launch. I was given ample notice so I then gave ample notice to those who'd be involved, like my boxing club, client and my coach.
Showed up at Team Insider and coming up the stairs I could hear something was up.
They were doing renovations.
Really?! Really.
I've been boxing here for well over a year and a half and have never them so much as do any additional work beyond coaching and (maybe) wash the floor and yet here they were, two random workers, drilling into the concrete to hang up a new heavy bag. You know what it looks like when you drill into concrete right?! It's a complete dust storm. There was dust all over the place. It was dusty and it was loud, meaning those training were limited to where and what they could train and they had to speak extra loud to compete with the drilling sounds.
Wow.
And, if that weren't bad enough, Coach Marcelo wasn't there. They had given him the day off. He's got a new baby, I can totally understand how and why he could forget, but I had told the owner and management -- the very people who would have given him permission to take the day off.
Double wow.
These were just but a couple of the "what-the-fudge" moments today but definitely not them all. It was ultra frustrating and super disappointing because I wanted today to go off without a hinge. It was a big day for me, have the crew from Six Pack Chef come and film me, so you can image my expectations were super high but my reality was low. It was a good experience though, a very good one, and it was really great to finally meet them and share with them my story and how I've really appreciated their support.
