Placed 2nd for the females, age 35-39 category.
Ran into these two fierce friends of mine, both before and after the race.
They've competed before, they're pro stars at it, so at 6am I picked their brains for tips and tidbits.
Now THIS guy is a beast, an ULTRA beast!!! He's a local celebrity and one of my neighbours but this weekend he was an ultra beast, competing in the Ultra Beast race that was 50kms long!!!
My fellow beast and fellow podium standing fierce gal pal; a new gal pal.. as of today.
We competed and met today but I'm sure I'll run into this fab gal again.
Favourite picture of the day was definitely this moment caught on camera.
For the past two years Mike has been trying to get me to participate in his Spartan races and finally this year I did. Honestly, I was so proud of him. To have made this amazing competition with all these volunteers, something like 5,000 participants, and a trail that was absolutely gorgeous, wow. New found respect for this man and beast of an athlete!!!
Can't conclude this post about slaying this crazy hard challenge without giving due shout outs to Skittles. He joined me on the sidelines right at the end of the competition to motivate and push me through the last five obstacles, when I had mentally checked out and physically was beyond exhausted.
