As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

MIA for a day... or a couple of days

Training like an animal, eating like a champ and thinking about my fight 24/7 has left me a bit exhausted and so I might be MIA for a day... or a couple of days. With my game just a day away, I really want to continue to stay focused so I won't be updating my homepage till after.
If you can't catch my game on TV, no worries, I'll be sure to add a link or some footage later.
The plan is to drop drawers tomorrow (weigh-in) and then drop jaws Tuesday (fight).
Thank you to those of you who have continued to show your support and encourage me. I would especially like to thank a new friend of mine, Nat, whom I've yet to meet but who has sent me encouraging words daily and who'll be cheering me on at my game. I would like to thank my teammates for their awesome pep talks and training tips, my parents for their continual prayers, Vbuuren for his health tips and positive words, Bman for his love, and my friends Homegirl and Italiano for their awesomeness. And last, but definitely not least, I would like to send my deepest heartfelt thanks to Junior Mint and Egerton Marcus, the two men who have undoubtedly believed in me from the start and took me from being a feisty girl to a professional fighter.

I just want to wish you the best luck with your bout. I know you'll do great. Use that quick jab and you'll do fine. Keep focused on your opponent.

Hey Amy! Thanks for the shout out, that always makes me feel great =D
Good luck on your fight. Sometimes I can see how you focus so much on WINNING and LOSING. When really that isn't what matters. Sure it advances your career, gets you money, etc etc. But what is more important, is learning something. I believe that everything that happens, happens for a reason. I randomly stumbled upon your homepage 2 years ago for a reason, and you will win or lose this fight for a reason. Whatever happens, just be sure to learn and TAKE SOMETHING AWAY from the experience. Be smarter, become wiser, get faster, appreciate hard work and determination, and admire other people's will to fight.
          I love you Amy.

what Bman said - get in there and fight your fight, win or lose no one can take that away from you.

bonus points, of course, if you win.

I think plenty of jaws will drop when you drop your drawers.

Good luck with your fight (not game!).
