As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Saturday, April 4

1. Today marks one of my brother’s birthday but today also marks a very important day for Kim Jong Il, andI hate that theyboth share this day. So while I wish my brother some happy birthday wishes and hope his day is full of kisses from his beautiful girlfriend and smiles from friends, I hope Kim Jong Il chokes on his words and his missile spontaneously explodes, blasting him to the moon and freeing all those poor North Koreans from his brainwashing barbaric ways.

2. Today we wait… waiting to see if Kim Jong Il does what the rest of the world doesn’t want him to do. He warned the world that he could test his “communication missile” (ya, OK… like we believe that’s what it’s all about) as early as today.

3. It never happened today. Kim Jong Il must have been busy reading his “World Peace for Idiots” book. He still doesn’t get it, nor does he care to get it.

4. Everything happens for a reason, I’ve always have been convinced of this although some things have been hard for me to accept and understand why they happened. If I hadn’t forgotten to cook my chicken last night, I would have been out the house on time today. And if I had been out of my house on time today I would have got the correct bus for tutoring. Instead though, I woke up and had to cook my chicken, got stuck with a later bus, and then… if I hadn’t sat in the wrong seat, I would never have met Mr. Meditation Man, a very successful Korean business man who’s opened up his own meditation centers in South Korea (even has one in Cheonan here), America and in Canada.

5. My attempt to cram my brain with some last minute studying on the bus spurred up quite the conversation with Mr. Mediation Man and so we chatted the whole way to Seoul.

6. The plot thickens as my Korean language tutoring discovers more details about the professional thief who stole her wallet two weeks ago…. She even has a picture of him now!!! Yup, the police texted her a picture of him that was caught on the camera and, get this, after he stole her wallet he then went and took 9 other wallets!!! The fool got greedy and that greedy fool is sure to get caught.

7. Forget Goggle, I wanted to know what pops up when I type my name on Naver.co.kr (the Korean search engine). Up popped a bunch of articles… and pictures!!! Pictures of me from over a year ago that until today I had never seen. Cool.

8. My evening was pretty boring. I got a head stop on planning my listening and pronunciation lecture so ya… it’s safe to say my evening was pretty boring.

9. Wrote a silly birthday song for my brother. Hope to make a cute video for it either tomorrow or Monday.

10. Spontaneous plans for the evening consisted of meeting up with Side Salad but after midnight rolled around and I still hadn’t heard from him I started cleaning my house. Dishes at midnight, not exactly an exciting evening. Mind ya, finding a load of cash in my pants pocket while getting my clothes ready for the wash was pretty cool. Nah…. Who am I fooling. It was a boring, boring night.

QUESTION OF THE DAY…
Was your Saturday as boring as mine?

QUOTE OF THE DAY…
