As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Little America... Thursday, May 5

On account of it being Children's Day here in South Korea, I had the day off work which was pretty sweet. Mind ya, the construction workers working on both the downstairs apartment and the newly created upstairs apartment -- which I should note used to be my roof top patio but is no more -- a quiet day of relaxing was definitely not in the cards. Sleeping in was a no-go because of the 7am work start time of the workers. I wasn't impressed, needless to say. And with it being a national red day (aka. holiday) the boxing club was closed so training with my boxing buddies was out of the question. I did however get into the club and train alone. I even got in a good afternoon run too but with the path at Dankook flooded with mobs of people it was quite the obstacle running course to do.

Snickers arrived home early tonight and arrived with a surprise -- "Date night" he yelled out as he walked in the door. So on that note I got all dolled up and out we headed. We thought we'd head over to Little America for some Indo food but by the time we arrived the restaurant was closing so we headed over to another favored place of ours. I haven't been to Little America since God knows when but showing up with Snickers -- my Korean man -- on my arm is always greeted with strange looks and the strange looks usually come from the American soldiers there. I must admit, I play up the situation and leaving them talking by only speaking Korean and cracking Korean jokes with the Korean waitresses. I'm not quite sure on how to properly label the reactions of the American soldiers but I'll tell you this, it's definitely a reaction of confusion.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
What's your favor?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Once you go Asian you'll never go Caucasian.
