Things I did today…
1. Got Internet TV hooked up and now I have what feels like a billion and one channels. Am stoked that I now have two different National Geographic channels but what channel is my boxing and UFC on?!
2. Discovered the wonderful world of Internet TV movies that allow you to pick and chose which movie you want to see, when you want to see it and they even let you pause, fast forward and rewind… this could be dangerous… hahaha.
3. Visited Mi Nam at the hospital and saw him stand up on all fours by himself. He hasn't been able to do this since the start of this week. I was so happy but it was rotten having to leave him there.
4. Took Pyen Chi the Pee Master Beast of Fur for her first set of shots.
5. Went for a 14km run in the scorching 28 degree mid-day sun.
6. Got my hair dyed… hello Blondie!
7. Vented to a new found friend. As it turns out the spouse of someone I “employ” knows someone on my “I-don’t-like-you” list, a list that I must say is short but the spots are oh-so appropriate and deserving spots by the few that are on it. Sooo…. ya, it felt good to vent. Sometimes I think we vent not to hear what the other person has to say but just to get it out. Today I needed both though and this new found friend provided exactly that. They don’t know this person too well so they were kind of like a third party listening to me go on about the problematic situation this particular person and I are currently in. I wish we could just do “rock-paper-scissors” like most Koreans and get it over with. Maybe we could go “out back like real men”, as they say, and duke it out. Or maybe I could introduce this person to the wonderful world of Canadian hockey and just jersey him…. ya, maybe. If only it were that simple, I tell ya.
8. Was treated out for dinner by my man.
9. Hung out at the hospital for a bit with Snickers for the sake of the insurance man.
10. Got bit on the butt by Pyen Chi the Pee Master Beast of Fur and dropped like a sack of potatoes!!!
11. Heard Pyen Chi bark for the first time.
12. Spent part of the evening teaching Pyen Chi to get over her fear of walking down stairs. Mission completed!
13. Curled up with my beautiful man and watched “The Green Hornet”. I can't stand Cameron Diaz or that Seth dude but I love, love, love Jay Chou as the character Kato!!! Gotta love those Asian boys, they're so darn cool... hahaha.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
What kind of lists do you keep in your head?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
You’re a human Swiss army knife.
-- from the movie "The Green Hornet", said to Kato by the Green Hornet
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
