As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Short and Sweet... Friday, September 12

Started my day off with his and her haircuts at our friends' new hair shop across town. She doesn't speak a lick of English but is officially now the only person I go to for hair.  She doesn't make excuses as to why a style or cut didn't work nor does she tell me I have to wait a week or so till it's "just right" because she always does my hair just right.  I wash my hair 2-3 times a day, dependent mostly on my training schedule, and I dye my hair with a Japanese hair dye I'm still not sure if it's permanent or semi-permanent so that should pretty much tell you how I care about my hair.  I care about it only as much as I need to really.  It's got to be clean and it's got to be presentable.  A low maintaneance cut and style is needed because of my training and job but getting someone that understands this and can help me out in this area has been, well, wasn't an easy task until I took her up on her offer to cut my hair.

Snickers didn't have to work today.  He didn't even have to work his two hours, 7-9pm, for our weekly Sparring Day because we've decided to make it every other Friday now.  Today I was teaching a Crossfit Challenger class at 7pm so he was off the hook for any and all work-related things.  However, with no real plans and all his buddies either working or out of town, he decided to stick around Hulk's.  For the most part no one knew he was in our bedroom, enjoying a rather strange and deranged comic book-reading marathon.  He must have read those books for hours though I vouch it's not really reading when it's basically cartoon drawings and short sentences in bubbles above their heads.  But anyways, to each their own.  Every once in awhile I'd slip away to the back of the club and crawl into bed with him.  Cuddle up beside him while he read his silly comic books.

In mid afternoon we enjoyed a meal together, that was nice.  Of course we ate totally different meals but it was nice to eat together.  We did however share some ribs today thanks to Snickers picking up some of those finger-licking delish ribs across town.  And that's how we ended the day, enjoying some ribs together with some of our Hulkies.
