As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Sparring with the Big Guy

As if being coached by Snickers isn't intimidating enough, he's my sparring partner.
He's 22 inches taller, 26kgs heavier, and a hell of a lot stronger than me.  And beyond the physical differences, he's also got a championship belt that he's defended numerous times so his skills tower over me.  He's clearly on a level well beyond mine but now that he's my coach, he akso knows the moves I'm going to pull on him during sparring.
...like the random low blows I try to throw

... how I like to work the corners
...and my strongest combos that I often lean on.

Check out the following timeline of pics...
He looks like he's dipping me here in some kind of romantic, flirtatious gesture but he's not.
I stepped into a clean, hard jab, making me a bit groggy.  I stumbled a bit and we ended up headbutting.
Here he is catching me from what almost was a knock out during sparring.
