As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

From Low to Insanely High as a Kite... Tuesday, March 26

The plans for our much-anticipated boxing club reached a temporary hold when we had to figure out how to transfer our sponsor’s money from his company bank account to our account.

It was an extremely frustrating bump in the road.

Snickers headed out to Wow Motors today to deal with it while I stayed home and slaved away on the Flipside Fitness magazine – issue 9 of The Fab Gals Gab.  There are exactly 37 articles/written parts of the magazine, ranging from a recap of the monthly socials to a classified section and top ten list.  Out of the 37, I did 30.  I’ve been just so insanely busy this month so I unfortunately had only a mere two days to do the remaining 22 I hadn’t yet touched on.  Mission completed!!!

At Snickers' meeting with WOW Motors, we received notice that tomorrow we’ll officially be over this “bump in the road”, talk about such a relief too because it feels like we’ve been picking our brains about this forever now.  The feeling of such relief, a release of such a burden, mixed with the relief that came with finishing issue 9 of The Fab Gals Gab was incredible so I sent out for an evening run.

Killed my running pace, which only made the evening all that more amazing.

And if that weren’t amazing enough, Snickers then let it slip he has a secret.  We were in bed chatting when he suddenly flashed a text message to me.  It was a message from the bank, stating that a deposit of a large sum had occurred late this evening.  Looks like we’re definitely over that bump and the proof is in the healthy chunk of sponsored cash that sits in our bank.  It’s not going to sit too long there though, tomorrow we’ll be handing over a big chunk to our building management and suppliers.  It’s going to feel sooooo good handing over this cash too, knowing full well that the ball is finally rolling and everything is coming together.

By the time we finally fell asleep it was 5am – we were way too hyper.  We have to wake up at 8am tomorrow for a meeting with WOW Motors,… yikes.  Snickers insists on always calling me “Coach Amy” now and I love that.  I can’t wait to get back into training, get my boxercise girls into the club again, and really start living this amazing dream we’re creating.

Life started off on such a frustrated note today but ended on such a crazy high – awesome!!!
