As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

I'm Going to Paint Cheonan Green!!!... Friday, March 29

They say "You have to spend money to make money" and woozers am I finding this to be true.  In two days I've dropped $59,000 on only three things.

Yikes.
Double yikes when I tell you it's not even my money I've dropped -- yikes, yikes!!!

I'm finding that the more and more I venture along this business entrepreneur journey here in Korea, I'm finding more and more ways to make more work for myself.  Thankfully however, these extra side jobs that I've linked our company to are also bringing us money to support our initial business -- our boxing club.

Today, within twenty minutes of walking into a car dealership, I had bought a van and was walking out with the legal papers.  It's not actually for us though.  It's in my name but I bought it for our sponsor so that he can ship it out of Korea, like to Russia, and sell it.  It's not illegal but it'll bring in an additional ten grand because once it leaves Korea it'll be listed as an imported vehicle and thus be more expensive in a neighboring country.  Until he sells it, it'll be ours to use.  I'm not too sure how long we'll get to use for but it'll buy us some time on having to buy an actual replacement for Bronco.

Spring time is basically here so it's time to turn my attention to Gotti!!!

Gangster Gotti -- my much-loved scooter -- sadly sits beside our apartment right now.  He sat through a whole cold winter without being covered up so he'll have to get his motor looked at and go in for a tune up.  A friend of mine wanted me to simply ditch him and allow him to replace it with another scooter but I love my Gotti.  The plan is to leave him be for a bit and then send him off to a friend's customizing motorcycle shop where he'll be painted green, get a new string of under-bar lights, and perhaps a crazy loud muffler that will make friends here me coming from streets away... hahaha.  I told Snickers I want to get one of those annoyingly tall flags added too -- a flag with our club name printed on it.

With our boxing club becoming more and more of a reality and less and less of just a thought, just a dream, my obsession with the color green is becoming more apparent.  Snickers pointed this out to me, as did some of my Korean friends, and they all think it's funny to tease me about it.

"I'm going to paint Cheonan green!" I told them. "Either you're going to be green because of joining Hulk's [our boxing club], or you're going to be green with envy."
