As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

My work day at the boxing club was actually a short-lived one that turned out to be quite lazy in comparison to my previous work days.  Today I treated myself to a cappuccino and worked away at our display posters in the warmth of a local coffee shop.  I felt so spoiled sitting there, not to mention lazy, so it wasn't long until I headed back to the boxing club to help out.
A new worker joined our crew -- a construction modeller who is friends with one of our sponsors out in Suwon.  He came today to make us some new walls, a new ceiling in one area and a new floor in another section.  I amused him with my sawing skills and my creativity with the saw dust.
I love the smell of saw dust -- it's a smell I definitely associate with my father.
Today's mission:  assemble all 36 of our main lights.
I was left to do this after one of our workers put me through a quick demo on how to do it.
I, of course, thought I'd have fun with it though. Always happy to amuse my workers; I can only imagine what they think of foreigners now... hahaha.
 Pre and post gutting shots.
Those who saw the building space when we first got it know just how brutally bombarded with junk and "other things" it was.  I still can't believe it took our cleaning/gutting crew only two days to completely gut the entire space.
Our club is still very much in the renovation stage, but today it was definitely very cool to flick that switch and see our lights light up.  The fact that I helped make these lights will always remain with me and I'm sure if my dad new this story he'd say "Yes, that's definitely girl!"
I was given a kind of half day off on account that I had a full evening of training and haven't really had any down time since we started construction. I had plans of doing housework and laundry but upon curling up on the couch with my four-legged beauties, it was lights out. Woke up almost 3hrs later.
After a full day of work dealing with the boxing club, work wasn't quite over for us.  Snickers stayed late at the boxing club to train the WOW Motors President and two workers while I headed out for the Flipside Fitness ROBO Time -- Long Run.
Work started at 8am and finished at exactly 9:35pm but technically I didn't "work" today.
