As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Pushing Through and Puking Out... Monday, May 6

Long days and days blending into evening without any notice have become routine-like for us and we really don't mind it except for the fact that now we're contemplating why it is we actually have a home to go home to when we're always at Hulk's.

After yet another long day, we returned home late in the evening.  Snickers had flopped down on the couch and I was just about to shower when suddenly we got a phone call.  It was from our newest member at Hulk's, asking us if we could start his training tonight.  Technically we're not even open though I must admit I've been letting friends come train if they bribe us with coffee or food.  The WOW President has been training everyday with some of his associates as has our Trainer Thor and Scooter Girl.

We had anticipated unwinding with a light movie but when we got the phone call all this changed.

I'll be the first to admit that I hate excuses and my only excuse is that I am sick of excuses.  So when our newest member called us up late in the evening, asking to be trained after 11pm and only giving us about 20 minutes notice, I was like "Hell YA!"  I may be exhausted mentally and physically but if someone wants to train and is willing to commit than I have nothing but respect and support for them.  Too many people complain about wanting this and wanting that but very few people are actually willing to do anything beyond it.

Working out your mouth isn't a substitute
for working out your body!

If people worked out their body half as much as they worked out their mouth than perhaps they wouldn't need to work out their mouth and complain.  I saw something the other day on Pinterest.  It noted, "You should have put your pity party as an event, then I would have been able to check if I want to attend or not".  I thought that was hilarious and spot on.  Don't ever invite me to your pity party.  I'll show up with an upper cut to your bum and will jab you right into the boxing club... hahaha.

Anyways, back to my member wanting to train....

In less than 20 minutes I was back at Hulk's, tying up my boxing boots and cranking up the beats.  It was his very first time ever boxing and, though he likes baseball and soccer, it's been a long time since he's ever done anything really physically active.

He puked after training.

Yup, that's right.  I made my very first member puke tonight after training! I hadn't even pushed him really hard but must admit I did work hard at pushing his buttons to make him mad so that he'd continue on with my exercise.  I'm now one for one with members puking after my workout.  If this is any sign of the things to come, perhaps we definitely are going to change Cheonan in more ways than one!!!

We may not be shaping the minds of tomorrow but we're definitely shaping the bodies.
