As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Korea on the Big Screen... Wednesday, July 3

While the rest of Cheonan was getting ready for bed or already off in dream land, I was getting ready for a date.  I had a date with a very special man, a man who happens to think my braided hair, bruised knuckles from training, and Sporty Spice look is sexy -- this special man is Snickers.  I had about ten minutes before the movie was to start so I took a fast body shower, threw on some clean, dry training clothes and squirted on some air freshener.  Yes, that's right -- you read right.  I don't wear perfume at the gym and I don't exactly get out to be able to actually use the perfume that's collecting dust at my house so air freshener was basically my only option.  I smelt like daisies and honey and Snickers liked it.

With tickets in hand, we flew down the street to the CGV theater that's steps away from our boxing club's front doors.  Wednesdays are one of two cheat meal days for me so I thought I'd indulge in a little movie theater popcorn.  I haven't had any kind of sweet-sweets for awhile now and must admit because my taste buds have changed since I've gone clean with my eating, my cravings are for things like fruit and bread.... ahhhh bread!!!  Half a movie through I realized that perhaps my choice in cheat food wasn't so good.  With overly sticky fingers, a rumbling tummy and popcorn kernels stuck in the back of my teeth, I was cursing that popcorn.

As for the movie, very good.  I didn't think I'd like it considering it had zombies and I was expecting it to be in-your-face gore-galore.  Had a good laugh at the fact that one of the scenes was portrayed to have taken place at Camp Humphreys -- one of the American bases here in Korea.
