As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

I'm NOT a Drug Person, Thanks. Thursday, August 8

Was asked today if I do drugs and though I thought the question funny the person who had asked me it wasn't kidding.  The question came about after this random visitor walked into our boxing club and stood for a good 5 minutes watching me.  I was busy watering the plants but just as busy singing and giggling away.  Apparently my so-called "not-normal-energy" was deemed suspicious and deserving of an "you-must-be-on-drugs" assumption from this Korean who has lived overseas long enough to know what "drug people" look like.  I look like a "drug person"... what?!  If I'm a "drug person" than perhaps my drug of abuse is a pure love for life, well that and coffee... hahaha.

Got some more people to come on our Hulk's Summer End Camping Trip of which "The Actor" is coming, very cool.

I can feel the burn from training every and any body part other than my abs but today I discovered that yesterday's new found love ab exercise is perfect for killing my abs -- hanging leg raises using the gymnastic rings.  Did 5 sets of 20 yesturday two times -- once when I first got to work and then again right before I closed the club, so a total of 200.  Went to go do the same thing today and seriously felt like I was going to be sick.  Have never felt like that training abs so yes, this exercise is the key to my ab days!!!

My pull-up challenge this month is to double my initial pull-up count of 9... today I squeezed out a set of 10 and then another 9 a couple of minutes later.  It's only one extra pull-up but hooray for entering the double digits!

Yesterday I had my weekly weigh-in with my coach and I am super proud to say that in one week I've lost 1kg of body fat, gained 1kg of muscle and am now officially ABOVE AVERAGE in the body muscle percentage... very cool.

It's been a slow week in that we only just today had our second puker for the week.

My next goal I'm working on, being a featured guest blogger for Oxygen Fitness Magazine!!!

Funniest story ever tonight -- one of my members brought her boyfriend to train with her.  Ok, so that's not the funny part but instead the fact that tonight marks their one year anniversary as a couple is.  He said he wanted a "hot date" so she brought him here and trust me, just stepping into our club is enough to make you hot -- hello no air conditioner and members hulking out and getting gym nasty.  Oh gosh did I giggle to excess over this!!! Love it!!!  Now that's my kind of girl!

Met a super cool random Korean man tonight who happened to walk into our club around midnight.  As his story goes, he's from Korea but is on a walking tour of Korea.   Yes, you read right -- a WALKING TOUR of Korea.  His original starting point was Seoul and now he's passing through Cheonan.  And with just a backpack full of things, a baseball cap on head, a t-shirt and shorts, and some runners on his feet, he's touring with a minimum amount of things and by himself too I should note.  Not too sure if I'd ever do such a thing -- seems too time consuming.  I don't have the patience, time nor energy to walk all of Korea.  I'd definitely need some crazy good walking beats to listen to, my four-legged babies with me and my hottie husband.  Props to this guy though for doing it; was pretty cool to see him so enthusiastic and excited about his travels and it was pretty cool that he arrived at our club.
