Ok, so I kicked off my birthday celebrations early this year -- I kicked them off on Sunday with a camping trip. So be it, it's my birthday and I can do what I want to, right?! Right. I'm all about the last moments and the first moments -- the last moments, in this case, of me as a 32 year old and the first moments of me as a 33 year old.
I said goodbye to me as a 32 year old gal in the comfort of my home with my 3 four-legged pups surrounding me. Snickers had stepped out to a friend's mother's funeral so I urged him to be back by midnight. "If you miss midnight, then I'll have to have my first 33 year old kiss with someone off the street" I told him and with that he made sure he was back in time. Moments from midnight, he arrived home with a cake. It screamed sweetness and lured my fingers in to it via the soft icing and chocolate swirls that covered the top of it. Now I'm not one for sweets but it was my birthday and well a birthday just isn't a birthday without a cake, oh you know it's true.
At work I got a special delivery -- a Wonder Woman cup that is just way too cool for school and oozes of awesomeness, seriously! I was so overly excited over it. Snickers was laying down in the office when the package arrived for me and I started screaming when I opened it. I spontaneously combusted into giggles and "oh ya" hollers; Snickers just stood there laughing at me but I didn't care. The cup is super cool!!!
So I got a birthday cake from Snickers, a Wonder Woman cup from one of my former boxercise babes, and then later on I got a very super sweet card and banana milk (love, love, LOVE banana milk... it's my kryptonite) from another one of my members/friends.
... and I may have gotten a truck too, well promises and plans for it!!!
Our sponsor, WOW Motors, broke the news to Snickers the other day that my much-loved, much-visited imported Japanese truck that sits in his dealership yard got sold. It's a super small yellow truck that looks like a Smart Car and is pretty much the same size but with it's got a truck cabby on the back like a regular pick-up. I felt a bit crushed at the news it was gone but it was one of those hoped for but never really expected to get things. I've been visiting it -- yes, I've been visiting a truck -- for a couple of months now. Ok, so maybe it's been about 6 actually, and everyone at the dealership finds great amusement in me saying hi to the truck and petting it like it's some kind of furry creature. I even kissed it once, right on the front headlight and I have no shame in admitting it.
Anyways, so apparently WOW Motors thinks I'm head over heels in love with it and consequently heartbroken. He's so convinced I'm in love with it that he's started to talk about us -- Snickers, me, Wow President and his sons -- about taking a trip together over to Japan to hand pick a brand new truck for me. He anticipates us going in the winter. One problem, I don't have a license. Of course the lack of license doesn't stop me from driving my Gangsta Gotti scooter, nor did it stop me from getting behind the wheel of Lady Ghini (our club van) when we headed out camping and Snickers was way too tired to drive. Yes, I've officially driven Lady Ghini and let me tell you, she's a beast of a machine that I felt I was drowning in being behind the wheel!!!
Snickers and his friends have been on my case for the past three years about getting my license actually. It initially went from offering to help me learn to drive but then they upped the stakes by offering to give me one of their vehicles. When that offer didn't work and yet another year went by, they upped the stakes even more by ditching the used car offer and offering to buy me my own new vehicle. I'm a truck kind of gal so a car doesn't interest me at all -- upped the car offer to a truck. Now that I'm sponsored by an imported car dealership, the stakes just got raised even more and now I don't think they could quite possibly be raised even higher. And to think, I still don't really care to drive anything beyond my scooter but would love definitely the trip to Japan ;)
