As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Chopping Things Up for Chuseok... Tuesday, September 17

Chopped my hair again, hoping the fresh chop may act as a distraction for tomorrow's Chuseok family meeting at Granny-K's house out in the sticks. Am hoping the distraction of me having completely chopped my hair will stir their attention away from the fact that I remain baby-less.

With Chuseok landing on a Wednesdays this year, it means most people will have a 5 day holiday, with the exception of us married-to-Korean-men wives that is.  Chuseok isn't a holiday for us, it's like a form of ancient Korean torture created by some real mean man that wanted to make a holiday out of letting the men be lazy and the women wait on them hand and foot.

We weren't very busy at the club today as many members tried to dogde the anticipated traffic tomorrow by leaving asap today. Consequently, we decided to close the club early tonight -- I always feel so spoiled when we do this.  It's a nice fresh change from our late nights.

After closing the club early, we headed out with WOW President and enjoyed a ultra delish meal together at his restaurant.  Snickers had bought us movie tickets to a late night flick so then we rushed off to watch that -- 'The Conjuring'.  It was a scary movie but perhaps it wasn't the movie that made my neighboring movie goers so scared but my loud shreks and huge jumps in my seat.

I always make Snickers promise me, every time after we watch a scary movie, not to scare me but with every promise of this comes him breaking it.  Whether it's sticking his head in the bathroom window to scream, suddenly rolling his eyes when he goes to kiss me or rolling over in the bed and saying goodnight in a haunting voice, he always thinks it is soooooo funny to make me squirm.  I had put it on my Bucketlist to scare him but with every attempt I've made I've ended up scarying myself or mysterably failing.

Hmmm... let's see.  The other week I hid in a closet at Hulk's, hoping to jump out an scare him. Somehow he realized I was there -- I think he saw me on camera actually -- and I ended up sitting there for over an hour. Then, when I feel asleep waiting, he burst open the door and scared me!!!

I'll have to keep on trying... I have to scare him at least once before 2013 is up!!!
