As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Tough Love... Tuesday, October 8

Woozers, Snickers is one tough-love coach.  He may kiss me after our padwork together but from start the of our padwork session to that particular one quick kiss, it's all intense looks, stern voices, and frowned eyebrows all directed at me for a good solid 30-40 minutes.

I thought for sure he'd turn a bit soft on me and tell me he'd have breakfast with me everyday this week.  That was the proposed reward I had asked for if I had succeeded with clocking in at 49 minutes for my 10km this past weekend.

No such luck.

Not only does he still not have breakfast with me but he wakes me and tells me I have to still continue my morning runs, great.  Morning runs will continue for another month because it was just told to me that my "next time" has now officially been scheduled.

My "next time", Sunday, November 10th with the set goal time remaining at 49 minutes.
