As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

A Healthy Award for My Efforts... Thursday, January 30

By 9:30am, I had done the following:
--  ran 9km
--  cooked breakfast and fed the pups
--  did two loads of laundry
--  vacuumed and washed the floors

It was day one of my four day weekend but day four of my training camp so I was up at the crack of dawn for training.  Clocked in 9pm before 8:30am had even rolled around.  I had running in the morning, boxing and weight training in the evening, and then training for my soon-to-be running partner in the late evening.

I opened up Hulk's at 7pm and noted on Facebook if any members wanted to come out to train then they had from 7-9pm to train.  Did my stretching, cranked up the tunes super loud, and then we trained.  I've been really focusing more so on my weight training these as supposed to my boxing but tonight I went round after round on the sandbag.  After my shadow boxing, I must have gone at least ten rounds just on the sandbag, then I did some upper body weight training.  Felt so good to hit the bag and I missed exhausting myself on it like I used to always do.

After I left the club, I headed home.  I took Pacquiao out to do some running partner training but, before I did so, it was time for me to cash in on my reward for all my hard efforts and commitment. I really don't like the idea of food for any kind of reward.  It seems so contradictory to training hard and eating clean, especially because eating plays such a vital role, 80%.  Instead, I used to pick things like new runners or a day off training.  These days I'm rather against cash-based rewards, I rather pay my bills and pay back my club loan instead of directing my money elsewhere, towards things that really are rather petty and not necessary.  However, these days I've been saving my taxi money.  We have Foxy Brown now, our SUV, but for awhile there we were sharing a friend's car and taking taxis.  On days when Snickers headed to work early or I had to take a taxi to work, I relied on my own two legs and pocketed every fare I didn't use.  It costs me $3 to take a taxi from home to work and, after months of running to work, I finally saved up enough money to buy a pair of boots I've had my eye on for the longest time.

Awhile back I checked out some boots at a store right around the corner from my house.  I tried them on, they fitted perfectly and looked super cute.  They were a sandy brown fake suede with little gold studs accenting the toe and heel area.  I told the young lady who owned the store that I'd be back to buy them in a month or two.  Consequently, she set a pair of my size aside and placed them right in the store front window.  I passed them every single day, at least twice a day.  Today I purchased them.  I had finally saved up enough of my taxi money to do so.  I bought a wallet too actually.  It was a used Guess wallet a friend was selling.

It took me 23 runs to work to buy the boots and the wallet, $70.
