As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

From a Birthday Blessings to Boxing Beats

Headed to my niece's first birthday party today and was greeted with an overly happy sister-in-law all decked out and the sectioned-off restaurant looking quite as beautiful too.
She's already one, I can't believe it.  I can't believe how so super cute her hat is... love it!!!
It was a packed party with a lot of Kim's flooding the seats and giggling away.
My father-in-law, K-Gere, was particularly handsome today, all decked out in a suit with a sparkly yellow silk tie.  Even Granny Kim was there too.
And then they were suddenly all at Hulk's, talk about a massive surprise.  Twenty-One Kim's... hahaha.
Props to the mini-Kim females for eagerly stepping in the ring.  I always have mad props for fierce females, even if they're small enough to walk under our sandbags and our gloves weigh about half of what they do.
The action didn't stop after the birthday party.  It continued well into the evening with a much-anticipated sparring match between WOW President's son and a blast from Snickers' past.
Hard hits, mean body shots, and one overly exhausted boxer later, it was surely a wicked sparring session.  Our amateur boxer got knocked down but definitely mad props to him for getting back up and continuing another round.  I was impressed by his efforts.
It takes a lot to step into the ring and with only a mere 7 months of training, our amateur going against a pro boxer who has been professional now for 3 years is quite the hardcore match-up.
We evened the playing field a bit and gave remaining spectators a bonus when Snickers stepped into the ring with our visiting pro boxer.  It was a great match but an even greater reminder of why it is they call Snickers the Korean Hulk.
